Art&Ode is a result of a lived experience – a healing journey that began with the birth of my daughter who has motor and a vision impairment, making her an auditory learner. Over the years, my search and research for solutions in cutting-edge medical world and life sciences, made me progressively convinced of a path more ancient and pure – Vedic science.

COVID 19 and our sound, smell and sight ritual
When COVID hit and we couldn’t go out, it made us go inward. Kirtans, candles and listening to Vedic mantras with my daughter became a ritual and it was transformative – A beautiful, ancient, simple human science that’s been lost in our complicated world – Sound, smell and sight, our senses working at a deep level, healing, manifesting, disseminating and metaphysically transforming us inside out.

The Ukraine war dream
When the Ukraine war broke out, I began dreaming I was a bird watching cities burn from the sky until the flames became serene cities of candles. The dream lasted for months, ending only after I met a Ukrainian mother who’d fled the war with her daughter and needed support – It was a message to create our sound, smell, and sight ritual for the world. I worked with a candle maker friend to craft our first prototype, shared it with her and the dream never returned.

It’s been a profound, personal experience that I’m compelled to share through our candles that are diligently prepared, with devotion and intention. Each one going through a tika and a mantra recitation ceremony to serve its purpose before it’s sealed and shipped to its new home.
